Lorry driver finds dream home and shorter commute at The Green
A lorry driver has slashed his daily commute in half and improved his quality of life by finding his dream home at The Green.
Tired of commuting two-and-a-half hours to Basingstoke every day, Steve Huntley sold his property in Havant and moved to BRICS’ development in Bordon.
As well as reducing his time on the road after a long shift as an HGV driver, Steve is now also closer to his 26-year-old daughter.
“I drive a large artic and work nights, so travelling home over an hour on the A3 was getting really difficult,” said Steve, aged 57.
“I am home in half an hour now and already feel a lot better.
“I had a look at what was available in Hampshire and The Green really stood out above the rest for location and quality. I grew up in Bordon in the 1970s so I know the town like the back of my hand and really like the woodland areas.”
Steve purchased a two-bedroom coach house, largely due to its unusual double garage.
He said: “I considered a three-bedroom property but the coach house really appealed as it is detached and has two garages, which is ideal for me as I have motorbikes and exercise equipment.
“The house is well built and is a good size for me. I was in a newbuild before in Havant so I was aware of the benefits that brings, including tripled glazed windows and warmth.
“Amanda (sales consultant) was amazing and communicated from start to finish. She couldn’t have done more.”
Phase two of The Green has now been launched, bringing new options and styles for house hunters.
Jake Priddle, Marketing Manager at BRICS, said: “Location is always one of the top considerations when moving house – and we’re delighted that Steve found somewhere which offers him a better lifestyle. “Bordon is currently undergoing an exciting transformative from a historic military base into a modern, sustainable eco-town. We’re proud to be part of that.”
